What is Juvederm Vollure?

Over time, our skin begins to lose elasticity and firmness, especially in the face. This can cause wrinkles to form along with the skin to sag, making you appear aged or distressed. Juvederm Vollure is the newest filler to be FDA-approved in the treatment of moderate to severe wrinkles, laugh lines, and nasolabial folds. Juvederm fillers are well-known for their use of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occurring chemical that can be found within our own bodies. The use of HA helps to restore lost moisture and attract collagen and elastin to the target area. This works to firm and smooth the skin, leaving your face firmer, softer, and wrinkle-free.

How is Juvederm Vollure Performed?

This treatment is performed by our aesthetic injection specialist right here in our Louisville office. The procedure typically lasts around 30 to 60 minutes and is virtually painless. To ensure you feel no discomfort, a topical anesthetic can be applied prior to the procedure. The Juvederm Vollure gel will be injected directly into the target area using an ultra-fine needle. Following treatment, patients are free to resume their normal activities. Overall, the procedure is simple and relatively noninvasive.

What  are Potential Side Effects?

The most common side effects included firmness, swelling, tenderness to touch, lumps/bumps, redness, pain, bruising, itching, and discoloration at the injection site. These side effects were usually mild or moderate in nature (causing little to some discomfort and impact on daily activities) and lasted 14 days or less.
